Each venue has its own light, its own layout and its own character and I know all of them well.
What makes a civil ceremony different to a full-day wedding is not its importance. It is its pace. A civil ceremony typically lasts between twenty and thirty minutes. The photography must work faster, read the room more quickly and capture everything in a shorter window. That requires specific experience not a generalist approach.
For a 2-hour ceremony package (£650), I arrive before the ceremony begins to capture the arrival, the nerves, the excitement. I photograph the ceremony itself without flash and without disruption, then cover the moments of celebration immediately after the confetti, the congratulations, the first photographs as a married couple.
Every civil ceremony, however intimate, deserves photographs that do it justice.

How I Work - A Documentary Approach to Every Wedding 👋 📸
Before the day: I take the time to understand your wedding the timeline, the venue, the people, the moments that matter most to you. This preparation is what allows me to be in the right place at the right time throughout the day without needing to direct or interrupt.
During the ceremony: I photograph without flash. I move quietly. I stay out of the eyeline of your guests and your officiant. You should barely notice I am there but every important moment will be captured.
During portraits: I guide rather than direct. Rather than placing couples in fixed poses, I give them space to be themselves and capture the natural interaction that follows. The results look like photographs of two people in love, not a fashion shoot.
During the reception: The speeches, the first dance, the toasts, the dancing all captured as they happen, in the available light, without staging. The photographs that come from an evening reception are often a couple's favourites, because they show the genuine joy of a wedding day at its fullest.
